St Hilda's Junior After School Program
This course is ONLY for St Hilda's students.
This sewing program is designed for students who would like to learn how to use a sewing machine and create projects to take home.
Year 3 - 6
ABSOLUTE BEGINNERS
Students will create two signature Miss Mary projects:
Project 1: Bunting
Project 2: Quilted Cushion.
Students will learn
• How to safely use a sewing machine
• How to wind a bobbin and thread the machine
• How to sew straight lines, reverse and pivot
• How to cut fabric and create neat points
• Pinning and seam allowance
• Basic quilting and hemming techniques
RETURNING STUDENTS
Project 1: Fabric Basket
Project 2: Fold Over Buttoned Pouch
